What makes a “good morning”?
We say it numerous times a day, usually without a thought, but when we asked how you can create your own “good morning” the IKU team had some pretty good insights.
Morning rituals play a form of mental preparation and visualisation for the rest of your day, helping you feel yourself and confident taking on the day. Whether it’s the food you eat, the physical or mental practises you engage with - it’s something we firmly believe can help set up your day with clarity and productivity.

Sarah and Dani, from the team took a second to share theirs so read on for the morning goss…
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up, and why is it important to you?
Dani: Hydrate! I reach for my water bottle on my bedside table and drink as much as I can. We dehydrate so much overnight, and I find that water not only replenishes me but also helps wake me up.
Sarah: A big stretch to wake up my body! Then, it’s straight to the news headlines with an espresso. Lately, though, I’ve been swapping coffee for our Immunity Shot a few times a week to stay in shape this flu season.
Do you have any non-negotiable morning habits that set you up for the day?
Sarah: Movement, always. Whether it’s a quick workout or just getting outside, it clears my mind and gives me the energy to take on whatever’s coming my way.
Dani: Same! Movement - whether it’s a slow yoga session, a coastal walk with my dog, or a gym workout, I need to move my body to feel energised and ready for the day ahead. I'll then make sure I fuel my body properly afterwards with some hearty protein and fats - my go to is always the Sprouting Bread with Scrambled Tofu (YUM!).
How does your morning routine change on weekends or when you’re traveling?
Dani: I love a weekend sleep-in since I don’t get enough rest during the week (I'm my own worst enemy). My movement often happens later in the day and is usually combined with catching up with friends - same goes for when I’m traveling!
Sarah: Weekends are for slowing down—ocean swims, walks, family time, and all the nourishing food I can get my hands on, including my husband’s homemade pasta :)
